Nuclear Regulatory Commission (NRC) License Renewal Activities
Battelle is preparing the entire EIS for a series of nuclear power plants that have applied to be re-licensed by the Nuclear Regulatory Commission (NRC). As part of this activity to date, we have prepared analyses of socioeconomic impact and environmental justice, and alternatives for the NRC's Environmental Standard Review Plan and environmental impact statements for Calvert Cliffs, Oconee, Arkansas No. 1, Edwin I. Hatch and Turkey Point nuclear power plants and licensing of the Watts Bar nuclear power plant. Battelle is currently working on re-licensing EISs for the Catawba, North Anna, St. Lucie, Peach Bottom and Robinson nuclear power plants. We are also beginning work on a generic EIS for decommissioning of nuclear power plants, a supplement to NUREG-0586.
