The Energy Consumer Price Index is a widely cited index number for the price level; the weighted average of energy prices purchased by a typical household.
The Energy CPI grew rapidly within the range of 137.4 and 159.7 during 2004, and has continued along its steady growth trend expanding by an additional 14% during 2003 -136.5 relative to 121.7 in 2002.
